104 Wild Cats in Kebayoran Lama Sterilized

South Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency sterilized wild cats at RW 14, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama.

South Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency Head, Hasudungan A. Sidabalok said today's sterilization used Trap Neuter Return (TNR) method. It means the wild cat was caught, sterilized, and then returned to its origin area.
"The sterilization is free of charge, and it is held together with Pusyankeswannak and cat lover community," he said, Thursday (11/7).
Sterilization in South Jakarta Targets 200 CatsHasudungan explained totally 104 male cats were sterilized today. The activity was held as part of maintaining Jakarta as free rabies city.
"Thanks for all support and collaboration for today's activity," he explained.
South Jakarta Food Security, Maritime and Agriculture Sub-agency's Animal Husbandry and Health Section Head, Irawati Harry Artharini, stated the sterilized wild cats were local cat with minimum age of eight months and in healthy condition.
"Hopefully this sterilization program is able to significantly reduce the wild cat population," she stated.
